Bristol Eastern High School

Accreditation

Bristol Eastern High School is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

To be accredited, schools must participate in the NEASC process of reflection and self improvement. This reflection is expressed in a "self study" report by each school that is sent to the association (NEASC). Then NEASC sends a committee of peer educators to examine the quality of education at the school. The visiting committee arrives at it's own independent conclusion about the degree to which the school meets the NEASC standards for accreditation. Finally the visiting committee writes a report about it's findings at the school, and makes a recommendation about accreditation to the association. The New England Association of Schools and Colleges makes the decision about accreditation status of the school. Accreditation, if granted, lasts for a maximum of 10 years.
